Your Continental Meeting Place in Plymouth

Old Town StreetIn the centre of the historic city of Plymouth is a little bit of France in the form of Les Jardins de Bagatelle. This exceptional Deli-cum-Café has been open since November 5th 1989 and continues to grow from strength to strength.

Its menu consists of superior soups and salads, filled baguettes and paninis, plus the most delicious croissants and pastries to be found in the South-west of England.

PatisserieAll the ingredients are sourced locally or shipped from France and prepared and cooked on the premises. Customers can also choose from a full range of excellent coffees, wines and beers.

Arranged over three storeys and with an outdoor terrace, Les Jardins de Bagatelle offers a sophisticated retreat from the pressures of every-day life. Its chrome fittings, wooden floors and pale walls, (decorated with contemporary art) provide the perfect location to unwind and relax in, and it appeals to a broad-based clientele.

The premises are also available to hire for breakfast meetings, daytime conferences and evening parties, and plays host to the university-funded Scibar, where, reminiscent of Paris Cafe society of the 1920s and 30s, intellectuals and interested parties come to discuss various topics once a month.

Whilst providing the quality and service you might expect from a bygone age, Les Jardins de Bagatelle embraces the 21st century and will shortly be installing a WIFI system to enable laptop users to access the internet.

From 7.30 am until 6.30 pm (Mon - Sat) and 8.30 am until 4.30 pm (Sunday), Les Jardins de Bagatelle provides an oasis of calm in the heart of the city's shopping district.
